Rainbow Bowling League started in October 2007 as a way of keeping recreational activities going in the fall and winter, when it's too cold for our Queer Volleyball games outside.

Additionally, since 2010 we decided to hold RBL's Summer Edition as an alternative to volleyball. Now you can choose between the two! And if you don't want to give up on volleyball, come bowling in the fall and winter!

The league is always looking for players! We play weekly on Wednesdays at 7pm (Winter season), and Thursdays at 7pm (Summer season). at AMF Sierra Lanes, 6450 N Blackstone Ave in Fresno. Games cost $15 a week.

Rainbow Bowling League is looking for teams of 4 bowlers, individual bowlers and subsitute bowlers for anothe season of fun! We’ll be bowling on Thursdays, starting on May 14th at AMF Sierra Lanes, 6450 N Blackstone Ave.
The dues are $15/week and cover the cost of games and shoe rentals. We’ll be playing through August or September, so commitment is needed! Call Rich Howard (559) 824-1417 for more information.

Bowl-A-Thon is an annual fundraiser, which started in 2000. We reserve several lanes in August or September just for teams from our LGBT community and have a big party with themes such as "Beach Party", "Wig Out!" and "Halloween". There's a big raffle, costumes, trophies and surprises! Since it's a fundraiser for Community Link, teams are asked to donate a minimum amount of money to participate.

While teams are almost always local to Fresno, we were thrilled to have Visalia Rainbowlers send a large team in 2008, and the Visalia Lions Pride Club even more bowlers in 2010!

2014 Bowlathon theme: The Bowl-HAT-on!
Get your hats on and your asses out on Sunday, September 28th for our annual Bowl-a-thon, in 2014 themed “Bowl-HAT-on” from 1pm to 3pm at Selma's Freeway Lanes, 8265 E Dinuba Ave., Selma CA 93662.
Freeway Lanes is a mere 20 minutes from Fresno and right on the old Golden State Highway at Dinuba Ave. The folks at Selma Lanes were so warm and welcoming at our “Bowling for Pride” event, Community Link chose to move their annual Bowl-AThon to their vintage bowling lanes.
Community Link’s Fall Bowl-AThon is an afternoon of fun, and a fantastic fundraiser for our varied and wonderful programs that touch many peoples’ lives, such as the LGBT Youth and Seniors’ Groups, Kids Like Us parenting group, Speaking Out LGBT Speaker’s Bureau and Fresno Rainbow Pride to name only a few of our many programs.
What makes this event so special is that it brings almost all of our community’s organizations, groups, and business together for a day of “community unity” to support programs that make a difference.
Folks are encouraged to get decked out in their best, wildest, biggest, craziest unique hats and ensemble! Say no to baseball caps or beanies, say yes to Easter bonnets and fedoras! Big hat, top hat, ranger hat, sombrero, Leprechaun hat, mad hat... Wear something interesting or outrageous!
Individuals are encourage to put a team together of friends and family or to encourage their fellow members of the great groups they belong to. Teams can be made up of 3 or 4 individuals. Each team's buy-in is a minimum donation of $25 which directly to Community Link.
The greater the donation each teams makes puts them into the running to win the “Top Striker” trophy (awarded to the team that donates the most $) and bragging rights. Some of our Top Strikers in the past have been: PG&E Pride Network, The Imperial Dove Court, IRS’s GLOBE and Deja Vu Nightclub.
We would love to see the Fresno Pride Lions, The Gay Men’s Mixer, POW and everyone else come out and support the 2014 Bowl-a-thon!
There is also a BAR Trophy up for grabs and it would be great to see which of the four bars’ teams will take home the “CockTail & Pins” trophy for the best game. Will it be Club Legends, The Red Lantern, The Phoenix or the North Tower Circle?
Each bowler must also pay $10 to the lanes, which takes care of their up to two games and their shoes. Freeway Lanes will have their full service bar and coffee shop open for our enjoyment. Open to all ages!
As always, there will be trophies for the Best In Theme (group and individual), Most Original Team Name, Best Game, Most Genetically Challenged, and the Top Strikers! What you need to do:
1. Get your team together.
2. Register your team with us at by 9/27 - we are reserving the lanes as teams sign up. This year let’s take over all 18 lanes!
3. Each team needs to make a minimum donation of a of $25 and pay $10 per bowler to Freeway Lanes when you get there.
4. Get to Freeway Lanes on Sunday, September 28th before 1:00 pm. Don’t forget your hat, “no hat nudity allowed!”
5. Bowl, show your hat creation off and have fun!
