IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE
2024 FRESNO RAINBOW PRIDE PARADE & FESTIVAL
PARADE:
Staging area:
The northeast corner of Olive & Palm Avenues. Once there, check in with our staff in 2024 Pride t-shirts. They will inform you where to go, where in the order of the parade you are and give you the number to place on the driver’s side of your vehicle’s grill. If you are marching the number needs to be visible to the right front of your entry. Please check in with our staff at Palm and Olive prior to proceeding to Ferger Street!
Please do not park in the staging lot unless you have been directed to by OUR staff.
Olive Avenue will be closed to traffic early in the morning and the Parade starts at 10am. You can set up your entry as early as 7am, BUT MUST have checked in by 9am.
The Parade ends at Maroa Avenue, and you must turn left at Maroa Avenue to exit. NOBODY MAY EXIT THE VEHICLE/FLOAT until it is at Fern & Maroa. Please contact all of your Parade participants in your contingent and share this information.
The City has put into place that no confetti or paper may be shot or thrown out as part of your parade entry. Littering citations will be given out.
Fresno Police Department requires that all decorated vehicles and floats MUST LEAVE the parade area immediately following their turn in the parade and not be parked in the neighborhood.
Parking:
Once again this year we will be providing free bus transportation (Thank you to the Fresno EOC) between the Parade and Fresno City College. Parking at Fresno City College is free and we encourage you to park at FCC and use the free bus to get to the start of the parade. The exception is if you have a vehicle or float in the parade, in that case have the driver proceed to Palm and Olive and have the other participants park at FCC. The main bus stop and festival entrance at FCC have changed from last year. The main entrance to the festival will be near the fountain at FCC, near the big parking lots off McKinley. The bus stop at FCC will be right in front of the school near where the walkway to the fountain is. This area will be clearly marked, the closest parking will be the parking lots right off of Van Ness & McKinley, Parking Lot B & Parking Lot C. Additional parking will be at Parking Lot E, Parking Lot T and Parking Lot V. See Parking Lot map below.
BOOTHS
The Fresno Rainbow Pride Festival is a SMOKE FREE and ADA compliant event. Fresno City College is a SMOKE FREE campus. This includes VAPES.
We are so excited to have you at the 2024 Fresno Rainbow Pride Festival!
You will find everything you need to know for the day of the event on this page, there are some big changes from last year, so if you were with us last year, please make sure you read this thoroughly as there are changes from how we did it last year. Last year we had over 10,000 attendees at the festival and we expect even more this year, so get ready to meet lots of people! If you have any questions after reading this, please let me know!
Setup:
Setup can begin as early as 7 AM and we need to have everything set up no later than 9:30 AM at the Festival Site (We highly encourage you to arrive earlier rather than later). The Festival will open to the public at 11 AM and will end at 6 PM. All Merchandise, Information and Non profit vendors will need to check in at the corner of Weldon and College Avenue, next to the FCC cafeteria. There will be a vendor only gate at that location. There is a large parking lot behind the cafeteria off of Weldon that is labeled Staff Only, Parking Lot K, this parking will be available on a first come first serve basis for our vendors (This is the lot where the food trucks were last year).
There is also plenty of street parking along Weldon and College Ave. I encourage you to find a parking spot and then go to the check in gate. This year due to new security procedures, vehicles will NOT be allowed on campus for set up. Everything you need for your booth will need to be carried in, we strongly encourage you to bring carts, wagons, dollies and strong volunteers to load in your booth. We are still finalizing the maps so your vendor spots have not been assigned yet, you will be given directions to your spot at check in and everything will be clearly marked. You will be given wristbands at check in which will allow you in and out privilege's. If you purchased extra vendor passes, those vouchers will be sent to you in a separate email. Please see map below to show where you will check in, the gate on Weldon and College is the only gate where you will be able to check in at. The Vendor entrance will not be available to the general public, the main entrance for the general public will be in the front of the school by the fountain, near the large parking lots off McKinley Ave.
Security:
No vehicles will be allowed on campus this year. We have also changed our bag policy this year, we are only allowing members of the public to bring one clear bag that cannot be larger than 12" x 6" x 12", we will also allow a small non clear bag that cannot be larger than 4.5" x 6.5" x 2". This policy does NOT apply to you for setup, you will be permitted to bring your items into the festival to set up and it does not have to be in a clear bag, however our security team or police department reserves the right to inspect any bags brought onto campus. This policy also does not apply to any giveaway items or merchandise that you are selling in the festival, you can give away or sell non clear bags inside the festival. Our security team will also be using metal detector wands at the main entrances to the festival, similar to what they do at the Save Mart Center or the Big Fresno Fair. This year there will be additional Campus Police at the Festival and we have more than doubled our private security team. Safety is top of mind and we are doing everything we can to ensure a safe and fun event!
Restrooms:
There will be a centralized restroom area with additional restrooms located throughout the festival site.
Food:
The food trucks and food booths this year will be located behind the campus book store in the parking lot near the tennis courts. The festival site has expanded quite a bit this year and the food trucks will be inside the festival site.
Parade:
If you are planning on setting up your booth and then going to the parade, we encourage you to use our free bus transportation. There will be a bus stop in front of the Vendor Entrance, so you will be able to be picked up and dropped off at the special vendor entrance. The Vendor entrance will not be available to the general public.
AGAIN, PLEASE NOTE; DUE TO NEW SECURITY PROCEDURES, NO CARS WILL BE ALLOWED ON VENDOR SITE FOR SETTUP. YOU WILL BE DIRECTED TO PARKING AND EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR YOUR BOOTH WILL NEED TO BE CARRIED IN. WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO BRING CARTS, WAGONS, DOLLIES AND STRONG VOLUNTEERS TO LOAD IN YOUR BOOTH.
